BREAKING: Fen-phen case ends in mistrial

From the Lexington Herald-Leader:

After more than eight days of deliberation and eight weeks of testimony, a federal judge on Thursday declared a mistrial in the case of two Lexington lawyers accused of bilking their former clients of millions of dollars in a diet-drug settlement. That means Shirley Cunningham Jr. and William Gallion will face a second criminal trial, a date for which has not been set. The two men are to remain in the Boone County jail until the trial. U.S. District Court Judge William Bertelsman denied the two men's request for bail. They have been charged with one count each of conspiracy to commit wire fraud, which carries a maximum penalty of 20 years in prison.
