Daytime Emmy Nominations Announced
Nominations for the 35th Daytime Emmy Awards were announced today. You can see the full list by clicking here.
Regarding my favorite game show, "The Price Is Right," it was nominated for Outstanding Game/Audience Participation Show along with "Cash Cab" and "Jeopardy!" "Price" was also nominated for Outstanding Achievement in Makeup and Outstanding Achievement in Hairstyling. Ben Bailey ("Cash Cab"), Alex Trebek ("Jeopardy!"), and Pat Sajak ("Wheel of Fortune") were nominated for Outstanding Game Show Host. Regis Philbin will receive the Lifetime Achievement Award.
The Daytime Emmys will be live on ABC on Friday, June 20 at 8PM ET.

As an Evangelical, I am shocked that Miley Cyrus' parents--who claim to be Christian--would allow Vanity Fair to take semi-nude pics of Miley. For those of you stuck in a cave the past couple of years, Miley Cyrus is a superstar, starring in the Disney Channel series "Hannah Montana," has a concert tour, a movie, and author of a soon-to-be-published autobiography. Disney expects that the "Hanna Montana" franchise will take in $1 billion this year.

BREAKING: Josh Harrellson Picks UK over St. Louis
Josh Harrellson signed a national letter of intent with Kentucky today, passing over an offer from St. Louis. Harrellson intended to make his announcement tomorrow, but decided to sign today.
The 6'9", 260-lb transfer from Southwestern Illinois College has three years of eligibility with UK. This makes UK's second JUCO signing for coach Billy Gillispie this recruiting season. Kevin Galloway of the College of Southern Idaho also signed with the cats. Two other recruits come directly from high school: Darius Miller and DeAndre Liggins.

BREAKING: Cowgill Resigns from CPE
The Courier-Journal is reporting that Brad Cowgill has resigned from the Kentucky Council on Postsecondary Education. The CPE has been under fire by Gov. Beshear for not conducting a national search for a permanent president. The state attorney general stated in an opinion that the CPE illegally hired Cowgill. The CPE stood by the hire. More soon...
UPDATE at 5:36pm: WKYT is quoting a press release from Gov. Beshear stating that he is "pleased" with Cowgill's resignation. He still wants the CPE to start a national search.
BREAKING: Republican Party of Kentucky files complaints against Bruce Lunsford
WHAS-TV political reporter Mark Hebert is reporting that the Republican Party of Kentucky (RPK) has filed a complaint with the Federal Election Commission against Bruce Lunsford "for airing television advertisements without the legally required disclaimer." In addition, the RPK has filed a complaint with the FCC against Louisville CW affiliate WBKI for airing the unlawful ad. The ad was essentially an appearance by Lunsford on the "Louisville Live this Morning" show. The host stated Lunsford paid for the appearance but did not have any disclaimers.

DNC Ad Disgraces Our Troops and Veterans
How low will Howard Dean and the Democratic National Committee will go? The Democratic National Committee has a new TV ad that criticizes John McCain--who served in Vietnam--for his views on Iraq. The ad shows footage of an IED exploding while two of our troops disappear in the fireball.
Newsmax reports: "The footage appears similar to film taken by jihadists who videotape IED explosions that kill American combat troops. The jihadists place the video on the Internet to tout their "kill Americans" campaign success. The Army estimates that more than 6,500 jihadist Web sites promote violence against America and American troops."
As I mentioned on Sunday, the Republican National Committee states the ad is a violation of Federal law because of the fact that both the Obama and Clinton campaigns helped the DNC with the ad.
This ad is a total disgrace to our troops and our veterans. The DNC ad appears to support the jihadists. Let me state this: there are rank-and-file Democrats that really support our men and women in uniform. However, the ultra-left that has taken over the DNC are in the smearing business.
PRAY for and SUPPORT our troops and veterans...and PRAY for our leaders so that they can stand up to these jihadists.

CNNMoney.com: CBS Financial Chief Says Local TV Market Weaker Than Expected
Another New Ratings Low for CBS Evening News
TVNewser is reporting that the CBS Evening News has set yet another ratings low last week: 5.34 million total viewers and 1.58 million in the 25-54 age range.
As I mentioned last week, the evening newscasts need to have more balance in their reporting and attract younger viewers. I believe within the next 5-10 years, if they do not improve their product, CBS will drop their evening newscast.

Faith Under Fire: India
Last night, we began our "Faith Under Fire" series with the plight of Christians in Indonesia. Today, we examine the plight of Christians in the Indian state of Gujarat. Compass Direct News is reporting that the pro-Hindu ruling party in that state is implementing an anti-conversion law against Christians.
Compass Direct states:
- "India’s Freedom of Religion Acts, referred to as anti-conversion laws, are supposed to curb religious conversions made by “force,” “fraud” or “allurement.” But Christians and [human] rights groups say that in reality the laws obstruct conversion generally, as Hindu nationalists invoke them to harass Christian workers with spurious arrests and incarcerations."

Developing: United, US Airways in Merger Talks
A source tells the Associated Press that United and US Airways "are in very advanced talks with the expectation of announcing within two weeks that they are combining." This comes on the heels of Continental's sudden announcement that they do not intend to merge with United.

Faith Under Fire: Indonesia
From time to time I will post on how Christians keep following the Lord under hostile circumstances. 'Hostile' can mean both violent and non-violent.
The first post in this ongoing series deals with Indonesia. The BBC has the story of how Christians, faced with restrictions from the Indonesian government, worship Christ in shopping malls. Indonesia, which has an Islamic majority, allows Christians to worship God freely--with a permit. Only 20 percent of Christian churches in one Indonesian province have official permits. In addition, more than 100 churches have been either attacked or been intimidated in the last two years. Faced with government restrictions and violence, they are forced to worship in malls, hospitals, and other secure locations.
